A Cheap Foray into CNC and Quick Turn Circuit Board Manufacture
Born from a desire to design and iterate circuit boards like 3D printing. I took to designing and making a small CNC engraver to carve isolation traces on copper clad board. With moderate success, and learning how CNC is different than 3D printing, I struggle now to find the inspiration to continue when quick turn chinese manufacture is a weeks away and very cheap. Though, it still is an on-going project, and having some ability to make my own double sided circuit boards in a few hours is nice.
The above picture is of my first design, and while it worked and produced boards...the slow "spindle" speed (a motor from a dental impression drill press), no auto leveling, and lack of rigidity led me to move from the original design.
